Meta’s Live Video Ads reach general availability on Instagram today, ending the platform’s follower-only ceiling on livestream reach and letting brands amplify a creator’s real-time broadcast as a Partnership Ad to audiences outside either party’s follower graph. Until now, an Instagram Live session could only land in front of people who already followed the host. Paid targeting changes the surface entirely.
The rollout arrives two weeks after Meta’s September 15 announcement of its consolidated Creator Marketing Hub, which merges the old Creator Marketplace and Partnerships Ads Hub into one control surface. The Hub adds one-click ad creation, content-level permissions with expiration dates, editing tools for music and stickers, integrated partnership messaging, and, per BuzzInContent, content recommendations tuned to campaign objectives like sales or awareness. Meta’s timing lines up with IAB’s inaugural Global Creator Week, held September 14–18, which united chapters across 17 markets around common creator-marketing standards.
The scale case for creator content isn’t in dispute. Emplifi data cited by Meta pegs creator-led collaborations at 5x more interactions than standard posts for smaller brands, and 73% of brands already use Instagram’s collaboration feature. The 2025 IAB Creator Economy Report has creator recommendations influencing 45% of consumer purchases, with creator-economy ad spend growing 4x faster than overall media. What’s new isn’t the pull of creator content. It’s that paid distribution can now sit behind the live, high-intent moment when a product is actually being demonstrated.
For a 5-to-30-person B2C brand selling something demonstrable, beauty, apparel, food, fitness gear, this is a different acquisition surface than a sponsored static post. The workflow: identify a creator whose audience matches your buyer, negotiate a live session, and boost the broadcast through the Creator Marketing Hub as a Partnership Ad targeted at non-followers. Woosung Kim, Performance Marketing Manager at eBay Japan, calls live streaming a channel that has “proven to be a pivotal engagement channel” for Gen Z and K-Beauty audiences, a useful signal, though it isn’t a Live Video Ads performance benchmark, and Meta hasn’t released one.
Two caveats worth naming. First, no independent CPM or conversion data yet exists for the Instagram implementation; early buyers are testing in the dark. Second, production risk concentrates in a single live window: if the creator’s stream underdelivers, the budget goes with it. The prudent move is to run an unpaid Instagram Live first, review the tape, then amplify a proven format.
It also fits a pattern. Upfluence’s fully agentic Jaice release and YouTube’s flat-fee Affiliate Campaigns invitation model both pointed the same direction this month: the creator layer is being productized into something a small brand can actually operate. Meta’s addition is the paid-distribution piece that was missing.
